Road Trip

We’re off on a mini-adventure through Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee and Kentucky. It’s been hard getting Jason and Jenna to understand that “vacation” does not mean “Disney.” Between trips to visit relatives in southern California (which inevitably involve meeting at Disneyland) and our recent vacation to Disneyworld, our kids have a slightly skewed (and, yes, a bit spoiled) concept of vacation. We’ve spent the last week answering questions about whether there will be a parade (no), whether there will be fireworks (yes, but not over a castle) and whether we will go on the Buzz Lightyear ride (not unless a Toy Story movie marathon in our car counts).

I doubt our car will be the happiest place on earth, but I’m still pretty excited about going away on an adventure.
