Snow Day

We had an ice storm last night in the DFW area. The kids were thrilled to wake up to a blanket of white over their entire yard, and they ventured out almost immediately to play in the snow. Unfortunately, the temperatures were still very low and they came inside almost just as immediately. For now, we’re bundled up by the fire, enjoying these views from the warmth of our home.

  1. We use to wish (pray) for snow days. Since most kids do and because
the prayers of the young and innocent are always likely to be heard and answered.
We enjoyed snow days and some classic memorable activities. Sled ridding
was a must and we never tired of pulling each other on sheets of cardboard. Our
parents always took us to Art Hill (THE PLACE TO BE) for a thrill of a ride on our
sleds. We would drink hot cocoa with shavings of good chocolate on top. We loved
to play like we ran a cocoa shop and served cocoa and donut holes.
Making Frozen Bubbles with your wand and homemade bubble mix is fun. You need
wands, 1/2 cup soap powder, 1/2 cup of sugar, 3 cups of hot water and take it outside.
Make a bubble, catch it on your wans and watch it freeze into a crystal ball.

    • May – I remember sledding down the hill in your yard in St. Louis. So much fun!
We went sledding with Jason and Jenna today. We don’t own sleds so we used cardboard boxes and storage bin lids. We had a blast! School was just cancelled for tomorrow too, so we’re heading into Snow Day #4 tomorrow. We’ll have to try the bubble recipe.
